Linear power supply

The advanced linear power supply with a specially magnetically shielded toroidal transformer ensures a very clean and low-noise power supply for all components. This reduces jitter and noise at all A/V outputs, minimises the transmission of jitter and noise from the media player to the receiving A/V devices, and thus improves the resulting audio and video quality.

TCXO Chip

The media player uses an advanced, high-precision, ultra-low-noise TCXO clock. This temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) chip provides a very clean and precise clock (much more precise than the default clock) for the A/V processing circuits in the media player. The chip is powered by a dedicated low-noise circuit, which helps to further reduce jitter and noise at all A/V outputs, bringing the resulting audio and video quality to the highest level.

Hi-Fi digital output and XMOS chip

For hi-fi audio fans, the media player provides dedicated hi-fi digital audio outputs (coaxial S/PDIF and I2S-E) based on an XMOS chip. The XMOS chip provides additional isolation of the generated audio signal from other components of the media player, resulting in an extremely clean, very low noise and very low jitter audio signal.

Enhanced analogue audio output

For users who prefer analogue audio, the media player has an enhanced hardware design of the analogue audio output. The DAC block of the media processor is powered by a dedicated low-noise power chip. Together with the linear power supply and the TCXO chip, this ensures significantly better sound quality.

Dedicated port for USB-DAC

For audio enthusiasts who prefer to connect an external Hi-Fi USB-DAC, the media player is equipped with a dedicated USB audio output. This USB port has a special hardware design and uses dedicated components to filter out electrical interference. This minimises the transmission of interference from the media player to the USB-DAC and improves sound quality. The gold-plated connector prevents oxidation and ensures perfect contact over time.

Hi-end media processor S928X with 8K, AV one, VS10

The media player uses the hi-end version of the latest S928X media processor with Dolb Visio VS10 engine. It is the most powerful and advanced media processor from Amlogic. It offers excellent image quality, supports true 8Kp60 decoding and true 8Kp60 output, includes the new AV one video codec and offers top performance overall.

Full 8K video support

8K is a next-generation video format that offers four times as many pixels as 4K. The 8K format provides the most immersive viewing experience, delivering a truly smooth and razor-sharp image. The media player supports both 8Kp60 HDR video decoding and 8Kp60 HDR video output. The media player can downscale 8K content to any resolution and upscale any content to 8K resolution. YouTube 8K HDR is supported.

AV one video codec

The media player supports the new AV one video codec, which enables an improvement in video quality of up to 50% without increasing the video bit rate (or requires a bit rate that is up to 50% lower for the same video quality). This new video codec is already used by YouTube and will become increasingly important for compatibility with various video services and content sources.

Top performance

The media player has a very powerful CPU and GPU. The CPU includes four 2.0 GHz ARM A55 cores, a ‘large’ 1.9 GHz ARM A76 core (with very high performance), and an additional core for system requirements. The resulting CPU performance is up to 2 times higher than RTD1619DR. The GPU has been upgraded to Mali G57. Combined with super-fast LPDDR4X and super-fast eMMC, this results in blazing fast overall system performance. The overall Antutu score exceeds 300,000 points, which is significantly more than previous-generation media players.

3.5-inch HDD rack

You can easily install a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive of up to 20 TB in the media player.

Vibration-isolated HDD rack

The HDD rack is specially designed to isolate vibrations from the hard drive to the case. The HDD rack is completely isolated from the case and attached to the case with special anti-vibration dampers. This significantly reduces the noise of the hard drive.

The entire case as a heat sink for highly efficient, noiseless cooling

The S928X processor is a very powerful processor. It requires a very efficient cooling system to achieve maximum performance without a loss of speed. The media player uses the best approach for passive cooling, in which the entire metal casing is used as a giant heat sink. Heat is transferred very efficiently from the processor directly to the metal casing via special heat transfer elements.

High-quality 120 mm fan for additional hard drive cooling

In addition to passive cooling, the media player also features a quiet fan to ensure the longevity of the hard drive under maximum load. The fan is a well-known 120 mm premium fan from Noctua that is extremely quiet.
